Clark Memorial Library will continue to be closed on Fridays until further notice. We will continue to work towards returning to our usual hours; thank you as always for your patience and understanding in the meantime.

The Library’s March Mad Science program may be nearly over, but we’re keeping the scientific theme going in other ways! Real-life scientific pioneers and technologies and do-it-yourself STEM projects collide with tales of mad science, robots, and fantastic inventions of all kinds on our Science Fact & Science Fantasy book displays – stop by and pick a story from whichever category suits your tastes.

Clark Memorial Library is excited to begin offering 3D printing services in 2025!

There will be a trial period in March while we establish policies and procedures – during which we invite patrons to take part in one of our 3D Printer Orientations, where they’ll learn about the Library’s 3D printing resources and how to use the printer and its associated software! Patrons will not be charged for prints made during the trial period.

Space is limited, so please call the Library at (203) 393-2103 or speak to a librarian in person to sign up. There will be an orientation on Tuesday, March 11, 4:30-5:00 PM, and on Saturday, March 15, 11:00-11:30 PM. It’s only necessary to attend one of the orientations; we will be covering the same information in both.

Waiting on a new book from your favorite author, or reaching the end of a series you enjoyed? Take a look at the new read-alike displays in our Adult Fiction section for suggestions on what to read next!

This month our themed book displays are filled with fantastic stories of myth and legend! Featuring both classic fairy tales and more modern fables, there’s something here for any fan of fiction – and we have books that explore the historical foundations of fantasy as well, for those who prefer facts. Stop by and try a tall tale today!

Have you seen our Sustainable Bethany display, located just outside of the Teens & Tweens area upstairs? Each of the books on display has been recommended by the Bethany Sustainability Association, the local branch of Sustainable CT.

Sustainable CT is a voluntary certification program that provides opportunities for grant funding to help communities promote economic well-being and enhance equity. Reviews of selected additions are posted on the bulletin board, providing both an overview of each book’s content and the reasoning behind its recommendation. Stop by and take a look!

Make a valentine at the Library!
Tuesday, February 4th through Friday, February 14th during Library hours, we will have supplies available in the makerspace for patrons to create their own custom Valentine’s Day cards! All ages welcome!

Nifty Needlers – Thursdays, 3:00 – 5:00 PM

Bring your latest needlework project and enjoy the company of fellow needlers, or pick up a new skill! We have yarn, knitting needles, and crochet hooks for those who want to learn how to knit or crochet – everyone from needlework novices to experts is welcome. Meetings will take place upstairs, in the Adult Books area to the right of the main desk.
