The All Together Now! Clarkville House-Building Project

Take a look at the houses in this model town for inspiration!
Clark Memorial Library is celebrating the summer with displays featuring all sorts of outdoor activities and sports. Come learn about sports history or famous athletes and trainers, and follow the stories of people overcoming their limits to succeed both on and off the field!
Next week’s summer Makerspace activities will be
“Giant Tissue Paper Lollipops” on Wednesday, July 12th, 12:30 – 4:30 PM,
and “Magic Scratch Mania!” on Saturday, July 15th, 12:30 – 4:30 PM.
Children will create paper lollipops with colorful tissue paper designs on Wednesday, and make rainbow-colored drawings with Magic Scratch paper on Saturday.
A special new summer storywalk is here: make your way around the outer edge of the Library’s front lawn to find the hidden objects in six unique “I Spy” images! Good luck!
Looking for community service hours, or just want to learn a new skill? Clark Memorial Library is partnering with the Warm Up America Foundation to provide warm blankets to those in need. The goal is to create 7″x9″ knit or crocheted squares that can later be joined together to make blankets of various sizes. These squares are a perfect size to practice your needlework! No prior experience is necessary – we will provide instruction and materials. Drop in to work with us on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 2:00 to 5:00 PM in July and August. For ages 10 and up.
Clark Memorial Library will be closed on Tuesday, July 4th, for Independence Day. We will open at 10:00 AM as usual on Wednesday, July 5th.
We hope you enjoy the holiday!
Next week’s summer Makerspace activities will be
“Fish Windsocks” on Wednesday, July 5th, 12:30 – 4:30 PM,
and “Make Your Own Rainstick” on Saturday, July 8th, 12:30 – 4:30 PM.
Children will create paper windsocks in the shape of fish on Wednesday, and create rainsticks from paper tubes on Saturday. We hope to see you there!
We have an extra-special summer Makerspace activity planned for July:
The All Together Now! House-Building Project is an all-ages program that will take place from July 19th to July 29th; stop in during Library hours and create a model house to add to the growing town of Clarkville. We can’t wait to see all of your creations!
You can support Clark Memorial Library by taking part in the Friends of the Library Raffle & Silent Auction, which will be running through July 31! Stop by the table at the bottom of the main staircase to purchase raffle tickets. To the left of the table is a set of shelves where you can participate in the auction: just write your name and bid(s) on the yellow form paired with the item(s) you want.
All proceeds from both the raffle and the auction will support the Library’s
Pre-K – 12th Grade Summer Reading Program and Early Literacy Projects.
