Children’s Programs for Fall

Family Storytime
Join us at 10:30 AM every Wednesday in October and November for a drop in story and craft time. For ages 1 - 5.

Play And Stay
Thursday mornings are for babies and their caregivers at the library. Bring your little one to our special session of stories, rhymes and fingerplays - then stay a while to enjoy visiting with other parents and choosing some board books to take home. Thursdays from 10:30 AM on
in October and November.

Paper Magic
Local artist Ditas Benipayo will offer a series of activities in October in our new Makerspace area for students grades 1 - 5. Each week will explore a paper sculpture theme using 3-D cutouts and architectural origami. Drop-in sessions are on Wednesdays from 2:30 - 5:30 PM, while supplies last.

Leave Your Footprint at the Library!

Every time you read a book this summer, whether it’s for the Governor’s Summer Reading Challenge, a school assignment, or just for fun, you can add a footprint to our footprint path! We’ve already made it all the way around the first bookshelf in the children’s section; how much further do you think we can get the path to reach?

Summer Activities 2022

Summer Storywalk

Come take part in the Summer Storywalk! Each of the six stands in the library’s front yard has a different summer-themed riddle on it for you to solve; once you’ve thought it over, you can look behind the stand or scan the QR code on the upper right to check your answer. Enjoy the summer foliage and renovated sitting area while you’re here!

Story Times

Join us at 10:00 AM every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday for a drop-in story time! For children ages 2-5.

Saturday Crafts

Drop in and join Miss Dorothy at the craft table every Saturday afternoon – a new summer craft to do every week!

2022 Governor’s Summer Reading Challenge

It’s the time of year to encourage students to participate in CONNECTICUT READS, the 2022 Governor’s Summer Reading Challenge! Visit the library in person to get a Summer Reading Journal, and check out our new digital media app, Palace, where digital copies of many of the GSRC Suggested Summer Reading books are available.
