New Service – Shoutbomb

Get automatic text notifications with Shoutbomb!

Shoutbomb is a free SMS service that automatically lets you know when materials you’ve checked out are due and when materials you have on hold are ready for pickup at the library. You can also request a list of materials you have checked out, renew items, and more from your cell phone using its various service commands!

The only information you’ll need to provide when signing up is your phone number and library card barcode. Individual alerts, and even your entire subscription, can be canceled at any time using the service commands. Take Your Child to the Library Day 2023

Take Your Child to the Library Day is a celebration of the opportunities and benefits that children receive from libraries, from simple access to books, films, and online media, to fun activities and chances to learn and socialize. Founded in 2011 at the Waterford Public Library in Connecticut, it has grown into a global event involving thousands of libraries. To learn more about the event, its history, and the importance of libraries in children’s lives, visit the official Take your Child to the Library Day website – and stop in at Clark Memorial Library from February 1st to February 4th to enter our TYCLD Book Basket Raffle!

Bethany Book Club has returned! The Book Club will convene on the first-floor Meeting Room on Tuesday, January 17, at 2:00 PM. The book to be discussed at the first meeting is The Dutch House, by Anne Patchett. Please join organizer Cate Horton for light refreshments and lively discussion. Books for future meetings will also be considered. For copies of The Dutch House, please call the Library for availability.

22 Best of 2022

The LION Consortium has compiled lists of its top circulated items of 2022! Check the lists for books and large print below to see what many of your fellow patrons were reading this year, and make sure to check Hoopla, Libby, and Palace for eBook and audiobook editions. Palace even has a special “Top 22 of 2022” collection in its catalog containing almost all of the entries on both lists!

Create a papercraft gingerbread house with a fun surprise inside! This Paper Magic program will take place on Wednesday, December 14th, from 4:00 to 5:30 PM.
Sign-ups are required, and there is a limit of 10 participants; please call the Library at (203) 393-2103 as soon as possible to reserve a spot!

Remember, Clark Memorial Library will be closing at 3 PM on November 23rd, and remaining closed on November 24th & 25th for Thanksgiving. We’ll be open again at 10 AM on November 26th. Enjoy the holiday, and this picture of the first snow of the season!

Help Amity High School's National Honor Society support the DESK Soup Kitchen in New Haven!

We accept donations of reusable shopping bags, canned vegetables, cranberry sauce, turkey/chicken broth.

Drop off locations: front of Amity Regional High School, Case Memorial Library, Woodbridge Town Library, or Clark Memorial Library.

Food Drive donations can be put in the box in front of the Friends of the Library nook at the bottom of the stairs. Please restrict donations to reusable shopping bags and unopened, shelf-stable foods like canned vegetables.
