Please join us to hear Eric Larson’s talk on Wednesday, April 28th at 7:00 pm via Zoom in the Virtual Community room at Clark Memorial Library.
Eric Larson is the Master Gardener Coordinator for New Haven County, and will give a talk entitled “Gardening Made Easier, Gardening for Nature“. He will touch on some tactics that might help in our gardening efforts, especially those of us who are aging in an anomaly in the time-space continuum that makes us feel older than we really are. And he will talk about native plants, pollinators and the greater good.
Eric Larson was born in the Midwest, routed his way through Kentucky, detoured in Pennsylvania where he attended the Longwood Gardens Professional Gardeners Program. His journey then lead him to Southampton, NY and Chattanooga TN until he landed at Haverford College in Pennsylvania as supervisor of the Arboretum Crew. After 15 years, Eric came to New Haven as the manager of Yale’s Marsh Botanical Garden. Having worked at the Marsh Botanical Garden for 15 years, Eric “sort of retired” and happily accepted the position as Coordinator of the Master Gardener program for New Haven County.
The Master Gardener Program is an educational outreach volunteer agenda and part of the University of Connecticut’s Extension System. The Master Gardener certification program requires the Master Gardeners to continue education, training, volunteering to provide horticultural related information and assistance to communities throughout the state of Connecticut.
